- Schedule a consultation call: The next step is to schedule a complimentary 20-minute consult call to talk in detail about your needs and ideas for a unique session.
- Studio: I have a home studio that I hold baby and children sessions in. You and your partner are welcome to relax and enjoy the session.
- Communication: I strive to keep an excellent line of communication with clients, so that expectations are clear, times/date/location is set and that all your questions have been answered.
- Before the session starts we will have a quick 5 minute talk through the session.
- Cake Smash Session Length is 40-60 Minutes: This length of time gives plenty of opportunity to get your child changed into their outfit from the studio, as well as having fun eating their cake, and the clean-up/bath session afterward.
- Photos are delivered via digital gallery within 2 weeks of the session.
FAQ
Can my cake smash session be outdoors?
- Yes it sure can! This is an excellent option for families if they want to be outside of the studio. I have a list of locations that are perfect for a cake smash session.
How do we create a custom theme?

We create a custom theme based on the child’s interests or any ideas the parents have. Most commonly, I have parents who are wanting to match the theme of their child’s first birthday party. I work closely with the parents to create a theme that will match well with the birthday party. I have props, decorations, and toys on hand to use for inspiration, and parents are welcome to bring in items to incorporate into the background.
Do I need to bring my own clothes, blankets or props?
- I have studio props that you as a client have access to use. If there is something special you would like to incorporate during the session, we can discuss this in our consultation call.
You have a home studio. What happens if your children are sick?
- Unfortunately, illness does happen from time to time and I will not put you or your newborn baby at risk. In the event that there is an illness at my house, I will reschedule your session to the soonest available time once everyone is well.
How long does it take for me to get my photos?
- I pride myself on a quick turn around for photo delivery and keep this a high priority for my clients. You will receive your digital gallery two weeks after your session.
What if my child doesn’t eat the cake?
Sometimes children aren’t as interested in eating the cake as we expected. My go to thing to try is to give the child a spoon as an alternative to using their hands. I have found that this works wonders for helping kids dig into the cake.
