Hey there, I have a great tutorial to help you out with any troubleshooting issues that you might have with your gallery.
I’m Rosalynn, a family and newborn photographer, and I deliver my photos through a digital gallery. For my clients I have found that digital galleries are an amazing way to have access very quickly and easily to their photos. But every once in a while I have clients run into issues. This tutorial is to help you troubleshoot any problems that you might be having with your gallery or images.
When you get your gallery, this is how it will look for you on a phone. You’ll get a beautiful display with your name and a highlighted image. When you scroll down you’ll be able to see the whole gallery. As you are going through the photos, you can click on the photo and it will be magnified. When the photo is magnified there are icons at the bottom: like (heart), share (mail and Facebook), download, buy, and hide.
“Like” helps you keep track of particular photos you want to come back to within the gallery. The two share buttons let you make your own selection of photos to share with family and friends either by email or Facebook. Each photo you click either the “mail” or “Facebook” icon on is collected into a shareable gallery that you can access from the “Share photos” arrow at the top of the gallery page.
Before I address “buy” or “download” I want to mention the “hide” feature. “Hide Image” tucks that image away from the “public” gallery so it won’t show when you’re sharing your photos with your friends. But don’t worry, it’s not gone! In the gallery menu above is “Hidden Photos” where you can find and “un-hide” any hidden photos.
The last icon we are going to discuss is the buy icon. Returning to our example gallery, you find another photo you love and want to have a large print for it in her nursery. So you’re gonna click the Buy icon. From there you will see a lot of different options of the ways that you can print this photo. You’ll want to select the best option for your use. Let’s say we want a 12×18 print, so you will click that and it will ask you if you want glossy or matte,. When you’ve made your selection it will add it to your cart and then you finish the checkout process. You wanna know the best part? This order gets shipped straight to your house! Simple, easy, done!
The digital gallery service that I use works and partners with only high quality printers so you are getting the best of the best. High quality ink on high quality paper and many different print options on high quality products. What I love about this is that it is so easy. You can love this photo and place a print order right then and there without leaving the gallery.
We are going to first select the photo we want to use, then click on “buy”. From here, you can scroll down to see all the product options, but we’ll select “greeting cards”. This is where it gets awesome: you can actually customize the cards straight from this gallery. Select a template that you like, then customize your colors and add in your favorite photos. It’s that easy! You have about 10 to 12 different layouts that you can choose from. I have had clients finish Christmas cards in less than 10 minutes using this print service! Seriously, you can’t beat that.

How and When Do I Access My Gallery?
This is usually the first question. After a session, I take two weeks to edit the photos before uploading them to the gallery. Then I will send you a link to the gallery which gives you access to your photos. Once you have received the gallery email from me, click the “view gallery” button to log in and access all of your photos and all the gallery options that we’ll explore below. If you have issues when you log in, I recommend closing out the gallery window and going back to the email and clicking on the View Gallery Button again. Still can’t access your gallery? Downloading Images
Finally, the most important button: the download button. When you click on the download icon, those photos are going to go to the default download location for your device. On your computer, that will be the downloads folder. On your phone, that will either be your default photo app or a downloads folder in your phone’s file browser, depending on your settings. I recommend that when you download your very first photo, check to make sure that it downloaded properly and is where you want it to go.Purchasing Prints

Can My Family Have Access To My Gallery?
I am able to give five people full access to your galley, allowing them control to like, share, hide etc. This is a great option for generational sessions where multiple family members can have control of the gallery and each person will all receive that welcome email giving them all full control over the gallery. Now if you are wanting to send the whole gallery to extended family or you are needing extra family members to be added, I can create a secure link that you can send to friends and family. This is available upon request, so let me know if you would like this option for your gallery. Another great feature of the secure link is that it enables friends and family to purchase print products for themselves. The last option you have is to individually share a photo with friends and family. As I described before, on each photo there is a share icon allowing you to send individual photos to friends and family by email or Facebook.Why Is There A Watermark On My Photos?
The main reason I keep my watermark on the gallery is client photo quality. This protects both me and you! Let me explain; I’ve had clients struggle to download their photos and, rather than asking for help, tried taking screenshots of their photos. This resulted in a low resolution image that they were trying to work with for printing, which is bad for them and a poor reflection of the product they paid for. All of my packages come with high resolution digital images, but you have to download the image to get that level of quality. The watermark ensures that all clients are able to go through the right steps to get their high resolution photos for printing. I hope this blog helped you navigate through your gallery.
