Are you looking for some fun free, or almost free, activities in the Goodyear/Avondale area for your kids this summer? If so, you came to the right place! I have compiled a list of a few free or almost free summer activities for children and families.

My kids love to participate in activities around the city during the summer, so we have participated in all of these activities. As you take a peek through this list, know that these are recommended by a parent who has sent my children to these activities and has seen great results of fun and engagement for my kids.
Scuba VBS 2024
This is an underwater themed day camp where the kids get to play games, sing songs, do crafts, and so much more. All activities will be in-person on the church campus where parents drop off their children and return at noon to pick them up, making this a total win-win for the family. They are expecting to fill up fast, so reserve your spot today!

Bricks and Minifigs Summer Camp
Dive into a 4 day session of Lego fun and learning. Let creativity soar with free building sessions and organized team building. Each week has a special theme, including: Space Adventure, Artist Academy, Dinosaur Discovery, Ocean Expedition. *Space is Limited

Juneteenth Family Day
Celebrate Juneteenth at the Goodyear Recreation Center! This program features educational and insightful speeches, live performances, and interactive activities. Learn about the history and significance of Juneteenth and engage with our community through activities and workshops. There will also be delicious food trucks and other local businesses participating in this great event.

Treasure of the Sea Kids Camp
This two day camp is jam packed with fun, games, and laughter. Your kids will get to make friends, play games, build crafts, and so much more at this outstanding kids camp. On the last day of camp the fun wraps up with an after party for the whole family with food and waterslides.

Goodyear Library Summer Events
The Georgia T. Lord Library (Goodyear Library) hosts some outstanding summer activities. These family friendly activities create a fun learning environment for the whole family. This summer includes their annual summer reading program, kid friendly comedy shows, steam labs, science shows, animal shows, and so much more. All these activities are free and the summer reading program comes with great prizes.

Age: Something for the whole family (each activity has a suggested age range, check out all the details on their calendar)
Cost: Free (Each event has limited space and they fill up quickly. This library gives tickets for each family wanting to participate in the event. I recommend arriving 20-30 minutes early so you get your ticket to join the fun)

Goodyear Night Markets
Goodyear is offering some fun opportunities for night markets. Come out and see local vendors, delicious food, and live music on a beautiful Phoenix evening. Bring the whole family out to this fun and relaxing event. Local vendors, food trucks and live music

Star Spangled Fourth
