Keep it Fun

Family sessions can bring a little pressure. You can get worried about looking good and natural. The secret is to keep the session fun. Below are a few of my best tips for keeping a family session fun and full of smiling faces. 

1. • Turn your family session into family time. I know this sounds a little counter intuitive, but go with me on this. Your family loves each other and when you have family time without a camera everyone is laughing, relaxed and enjoying themselves. So let’s treat a session just like that, Family Time. 
     You will get those photos that you want, I promise. Everyone laughing and engaged with each other acting like their genuine selves is the best way to get everyone to loosen up and have fun. 

• • “Give your kids 100% of your attention. Your kids love you and love getting your attention. Go ahead and give it to them 100% during the session. Pick up your baby, chase around your son, whisper something funny in your daughter’s ear. You know your kids and the best part is you can make them laugh like no one else can.

• • Choose a photographer who is able to help keep the laughs and smiles coming throughout the entire session. For my clients, I am always looking for ways to  keep your sessions moving, fun and memorable. I have more than a few tricks up my sleeve that include fun games, prompts and interactions. My methods are designed to help everyone breakout of their shell and have fun together.  

The feelings that are associated with a memory are what makes the image powerful. The magic of photos allows us to revisit the experience time and time again.
