I still remember the moment I held my first baby boy in my arms. The way his tiny fingers instinctively curled around mine, how he made the sweetest sounds in his sleep, and how his whole body fit perfectly against my chest. Everything about him felt impossibly small, impossibly perfect. I could believe that I had just made a baby and was now facing motherhood for the first time. Those first days were surreal — like time stood still.
But if I’m honest, I was also extremely overwhelmed. So many days were spent stressed, trying to figure everything out, all while feeling like I was doing everything wrong. I was tired, anxious, and constantly second-guessing myself. Looking back, I know I missed out on so much joy because I didn’t know how to slow down, ask for help and just be in the moment. I wish I had stopped, asked for help and enjoyed more of those quiet, fleeting details — the ones I thought I’d never forget, but that now feel like a haze.
That’s why I started my newborn photography business.
Not just because I love photography (although I do — deeply), but because I believe these moments deserve to be remembered. Not just in our minds, but in images we can hold in our hands, hang on the wall, and pass down through generations. Becoming a mom didn’t just make me fall in love with my own children — it made me fall in love with motherhood itself. And capturing that — the raw, real, tender beauty of the whole experience.
When we’re in the thick of the newborn or toddler stages — tired, emotional, and running on caffeine — we’re so sure we’ll never forget the cute things they do, the way they smiled in their sleep or the little coos they made.
But somehow, we do forget.
Those sweet details slip away faster than we ever expect them to.
I know this all too well because I struggled deeply with postpartum depression. There were days when the fog felt heavy and the joy felt far away — but having photos, even just simple snapshots, helped me hold onto the beauty in the middle of the mess. They reminded and still remind me of what really matters and helps me keep things in perspective.
That experience is a big part of why I do what I do now — to give other moms something to hold onto when the days feel long, hard, and blurry.
My Photography is Rooted in Motherhood
Being a mom i
s the heart of why I do this. It’s the perspective through which I see the world and the families I photograph. I understand the chaos of life with a newborn — the unpredictability, the exhaustion, the fierce love.
I’ve been there.
I know what it feels like to want everything to slow down for just a second so you can breathe it all in.
So when I photograph your baby, I’m not just snapping pretty pictures.
I’m honoring your story.
I’m capturing the real, honest magic of your new chapter in life.
The sleepy cuddles. The way you look at your baby when you think no one’s watching. The quiet strength of a mama who is showing up with her whole heart, even on the days she feels like she’s barely holding it together.
I bring that understanding into every session — with patience, gentleness, and zero pressure. My job isn’t just to pose your baby. It’s to make you feel seen, supported, and celebrated in the season you’re in.
Building a Life with Intention
This business is more than just work — it’s part of a bigger dream my family and I are building. One where we’re crafting a life with purpose and presence.
As a family, we’ve chosen to homeschool our kids. We believe in curiosity-driven learning, in slowing down, and in being intentional with how we spend our time and energy. Having a photography business allows me to contribute financially while also being present with our children in a way that traditional 9-to-5 jobs don’t always allow.
It’s not always easy and to be honest with you I am tired all the time. But I know that when my children are grown I will have no regrets in pouring out everything I possibly could into growing them into creative, kind Men of God as well as building a business that celebrates babies and mothers. Building a business and raising a family at the same time is messy and stretching. Full of late nights and early mornings. But it’s completely worth it. Every time I deliver a gallery that brings a mama to tears, or they messages me saying, “Thank you for capturing this for us,” I’m reminded why I do this.
I am not just building a business — I am building a life.
We are not just taking photos – we are capturing your family’s beauty and the life you are building.
We are creating a life centered on love, creativity, and connection. A life where our children see us pursuing passion and purpose, and where we get to walk alongside other families during one of the most special seasons of their lives.
This Is More Than Photography
To me, newborn photography isn’t just about pretty props or perfect poses. It’s about storytelling. It’s about remembering that these first few days — even when they’re messy and emotional and full of sleepless nights — are sacred.
Whether it’s your first baby or your fourth, this moment in your family’s story matters. And it deserves to be documented with care, with reverence, and with heart.
So that’s why I started this business. This is what wakes me up everyday at 5am. This is what makes me pour in the long hours. It is not just for my family, but for your family as well. These moments matter and they deserve to be captured.
