What to expect during a session with me?

Golden Hour
If you aren’t familiar with this term “Golden Hour” it refers to the hour before sunset. This is the best lighting of the entire day because the sunlight is more mild and the colors are warm in the skyline. Shadowing during this time is almost nonexistent and there is a beautiful yellow/orange color in the trees and atmosphere. See why it is called Golden Hour 😉

Timing Considerations
Since our session will take place during this enchanting hour, the exact timing varies depending on the season. When booking your session, we’ll discuss the projected timing, and as the date approaches, I’ll confirm the precise meeting time. Rest assured, my estimates are usually accurate within a 10 to 15-minute window.

Meeting
I will arrive at the location a few minutes early and will be waiting for you. I will be in an obvious place for you to see me. If it’s a tricky spot to find, I’ll be stationed near the parking lot entrance. And if you have any issues finding the location, I am simply a phone call away.

Quick Chat
Before I start every session we have a quick chat about what to expect during our session. This helps everyone to relax and have fun once the session starts. I tell everyone to go ahead and relax, let them know I will be helping them every step along the way and that all they have to do is have fun.

Posed Photos
I start right away with the posed photos. This is where we have your entire family nicely posed and facing the camera. Then we will break up and do the other group photos. Mom with kids, Dad with kids, and so on. I keep all the posed photos moving really fast and we are done with all poses in 15 minutes. I have found this is ideal for young children who need to get their wiggles out. Fidgety grownups love this as well. We get the hardest part done first and then we play.

Family Fun Time
This is the best part of the session! We go off and start interacting with one another or with the environment. This is your chance to play with your kids, share laughs, and create precious family memories.There are also lots of opportunities to engage inside the location. If we are at a location with water, pick up some sticks to throw and make a splash. Point at something interesting you found and show it to your child. Simple things create genuine interaction that leads to smiles and sweet intimate family moments.

Don’t stress too much about this part. I have got you covered with activities and fun prompts to keep the family fun going.

End of Session
Before we wrap up, I always double check if there are any additional shots you would like me to take. This is a quick opportunity to do any last minute ideas anyone had during the session.

After the Session
Once the session is over, we walk back towards our vehicles and I will give a few quick verbal reminders about the digital gallery.

Digital Gallery
I use a digital gallery for all of my clients. This is a secure location for your photos where you can access them any time that you like. The gallery system is easy to use and is a beautiful display of your family’s images. From here, you can download them straight to your devices and share them with friends.

I pride myself on a quick delivery and I send clients their galleries within two weeks. This is a wonderful feature that I love offering to clients and they appreciate it as well.
