Best ways to preserve photos
Keeping your memories cherished in Verrado Arizona
So you now have beautiful family photos and you are so excited to display them on your walls at home. Here are some of my top favorite tips for displaying and storing photos.
DO THIS WITH YOUR PHOTOS
- Framed Photos
- This is my go to solution for displaying photos because of the versatility and the option to update the photos within the frames.
- You can create a photo grid with your frames which gives endless possibilities for how they display at your own home. You can make these grids as complex or as simple as you would like, giving you huge potential with your own display.
- Keepsake Photo Books
- Keepsake books are a beautiful way to preserve your memories, especially for milestones such as weddings, baby’s 1st year, multiple years of family photos. (I even had a client one time order a keepsake book of photos I took of her daughter’s school play. Her daughter brought it to school and all the cast members signed it.)
- Keepsake books preserve and cherish these moments in a clean and organized style.
- Proper Digital Storage
- Digital images are extremely important, you want to keep them backed up and safe. When you receive your gallery from your photographer, I recommend downloading them immediately and then backing them up in multiple locations, your computer, external hard drive and on the cloud.
- Pro Tip for You – Create a Family Photos Folder with subfolders for each year. Place your downloaded gallery into that year’s folder. This will keep everything nice and tidy so it is easier for you to find the photos later when you need them.
DON’T DO THIS WITH YOUR PHOTOS
-
- I caution against only putting photos on your phone. I know, I know, I know it is so easy to put photos on your phone and you feel like you have access to them. But you dont know what could happen to your phone. Trust me, photos get lost all the time as we lose and break our phones. You’ll thank me later something crazy happens to your phone and you havent lost all your photos.
- Now, I am not saying to never download beautiful photos onto your phone, just make sure that you back them up elsewhere to keep them safe.
- Canvas Prints – I love canvas prints, really I do. But honestly I don’t have any canvas prints at my house simply because I like updating my photos.
- Now, you definitely can print on Canvas if your heart so desires, I just recommend thinking it through before your order. Wedding photos are great for Canvas because that is an unchanging cherished moment for you and your spouse. However with family photos prints can be much better option because your kids grow so quickly that frames give you the ability to update them whenever you want.
